Review - Mary Stewart's THE HOLLOW HILLS

A sequel to the Crystal Cave which I have not read as yet, this was a wonderful book set in the Arthurian legend.

Combining a mix of familiars, enchanters, magic, lots of real life and enmity, warfare and the permanent warfare that was around in 5th century Britain, this was a book that you couldn't let go.

Arthur conceived under the most bizarre circumstances is sent away at birth to be brought up far away from the court of his father and mother and brought back only when his father is almost on his deathbed. The story
of Arthur from babyhood to being a young man, with Merlin always his guardian, his mentor and guide forms
the crux of the story.

A magnificient book which I read for 3 hours going and 3 hours coming whilst I visited a tea estate which looks like this! this is the two leaves and a bud which is the only thing plucked from the tea bush.
