Mailbox Monday was a meme started by Marcia at The Printed Page. It is presently on tour. It is being hosted by I'm Booking it for the month of March. We give details of books purchased, won or gifted for the week. Please do visit the linked blogs and see what wonderful suggestions for books emerge from each persons mailbox.
My books this week are all purchases from a second hand store - not really a store but just a counter in a church!
Four of Cynthia Harrod Eagles books. I liked the first one I read that I went back and picked four more. There were more in that box and I do hope no one will pick them up!!!
A Booker Prize winning author in 1998, his books have remained on my TBR list for ages.
A bit of time travel (absolutely new subject for me!) so this is something I am looking forward to. My first Diana Gabaldon.
The Mistress of Spices - Chitra Bannerjee Divakaruni. Another one for the South Asia challenge. I've read this authors books before and loved Arranged Marriage (a collection of short stories)
I am quite pleased with my collection this week. I am still trying to clear out TBR piles. This was just adding to it.
What Happened to Summer?

Hello out there - yes, it's been (4) months since I last posted and I
totally missed summer. It wasn't much of a summer - rain, rain, rain and
lots o...

I have the Gabaldon book in my TBR pile too. Looks like you scored big at the church's book sale.....
ReplyDeleteNice books! I loved Outlander but still need to finish the rest of the books in the series. I haven't read The Mistress of Spices yet but I did watch the film with Aishwariya Rai. I loved Sister of My Heart and liked Arranged Marriage. I hope you enjoy your new books!
ReplyDeleteOhhh Outlander. I have been meaning to read that one for years
ReplyDeleteOh, lots and lots of great books. One day I will have to get to Outlander. I do enjoy Ian McEwan, I hope you enjoy this one. Happy reading!
ReplyDeleteGreat find at the Church book sale! Hope you enjoy your books!
ReplyDeleteI have GOT to read Outlander. It's been on my TBR for so long!
ReplyDeleteAhhggg Ian McEwan! I love him. I hope you enjoy the book!
ReplyDeleteI read Outlander last year and I enjoyed it - the first time travel novel I've read. Have a good week!
ReplyDeleteI have two Ian McEwan books on my stacks...Atonement, and a new one on my Kindle called Amsterdam.
ReplyDeleteHope you enjoy your books...and thanks for visiting my blog.
The IanM book looks good, glad your happy with your selection, look forward to reviews.
ReplyDeleteI've heard great things about the Outlander series. I really hope that you enjoy reading the first book.
ReplyDeleteHappy reading!
That's a very eclectic set of books-- cool!
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed Outlander, and should get back to that series sometime.
My experience with Ian McEwan has been uneven-- I haven't read Saturday yet.
Enjoy your reading!
What a nice bunch of books. :) I've been keeping my eye out for a copy of Outlander as it is one that I'm really curious about.
ReplyDeleteHere's my Mailbox! ~ Wendi
Great selection! You have beat me to McEwan and Gabaldon...good for you. Maybe you will write raving reviews and I will finally get my butt in gear and read something by them. Enjoy!!
ReplyDeleteI loved Outlander! Hope you enjoy it too!
ReplyDeleteIt seems everyone raves about Gabaldon but I have yet to read any. I'll be interested in your thoughts. I don't think any serious reader ever clears out tbr piles! :) it just can't be done.
ReplyDeleteLooks like you picked up some good ones. Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love The Outlander. It is such a huge read but what an incredible feat to explore. Nice purchase at the the counter church. Don't you love the books you can get from the church bazaars :)
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the reads :)
You're the first one I've seen with the Morland Dynasty books (other than the 2 new ones) too! Better scoot back to the church and grab the other ones :)
ReplyDeleteHope you like Outlander. I was skeptical when I read it last year because of all the hype but ended up loving it!
Wow, the church has a pretty good selection. Happy reading!
ReplyDeleteCynthia Harrod Eagles is one HF author I have yet to read. Adding her to the some day TBR list.
ReplyDeleteWow, that's a lot of books! Enjoy. Looking forward to your review of "Saturday"
ReplyDeleteI loved Mistress of Spices! It is one of those books that stays with you for a long time. I should find it again.
ReplyDeleteI am one of the few people I know who liked Outlander, but did not continue reading the series. If time travel is new to you I am sure you will enjoy it. I just wish Gabaldon would have written more detail about the Highland life style. It is a fun read and goes by quickly. Can't wait to hear what you think.
I love used book sales! I have several shelves of them still waiting to be read but I just can't resist almost new books for under a dollar.
ReplyDeleteI think this is the year I'm going to read Outlander. I've only had the book for about 5 years now.
You have a large loot here. Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteGreat haul at the church counter!
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed the Outlander series as I love time travel and historical and Scottish romances.
I hope you have had a good week.
I liked both Outlander and Saturday, although they're totally different genres. :)
