MAILBOX MONDAY/IT'S MONDAY! WHAT ARE YOU READING?

It has been quite a while since I've participated in this meme. Mainly because I have had no new reading material to add. For December it is being hosted by Rose City Reader.

The books that I got over the last two weeks are

I have stopped looking for her books because they are sad, so sad. This one however was given to me so I am definitely going to give it a go.

I've seen this author all over the blogs with another book of hers. This one is an unknown. (for me).

I like this author. Do not like the cover. Couldn't someone get a bit more imaginative about water and lakes and rowers????

Another author I like.

Two wins from Shellyrae. They were Aussie only wins so they went to Melbourne and after a wait of over five months they reached me last week!!! Two Penguin Classic covers.

This meme hosted by Sheila at Book Journey. My reading is erratic because I have had an overload of work. Reading the Adriana Trigiani book right now but its just a few pages at a time.  I do wish I could settle down to more solid reading though.

My second daughter Shivanthi was here on a whirlwind five day stay. Came for a wedding of her bestest friend - which I also attended. So lovely to see girls whom I have known from the age of around 2 1/2 years old now all young ladies and getting married one at a time!

  2. I plan to read the last four authors, particularly Nicolas Freeling and Michael Innes, some day. This is the wedding season in India too.

  3. Whistle Blower sounds intriguing. What a creepy cover! Enjoy reading this week.

Take a look at what I'm reading this week.

  4. I really enjoyed Picture Perfect - I don't think it's as sad as her more recent books.
    Enjoy your week!

  5. Picture Perfect isn't my favourite of Jodi Picoult's but it was still good. Must get back into reading Tess Gerritsen, I do like her work. Have a great week and enjoy those new reads :)

  6. I have read a number of Jodi Picoult books and some I like and some I really don't care for. Her books do tend to be a little depressing!

I haven't read that Adriana Trigiani book yet. I've only read The Shoemaker's Wife so far but I really liked it. I want to try her Valentine Roncalli series (Very Valentine, Brava Valentine, etc.) I believe the final book in that series was recently published.

Glad you had a nice visit with your daughter and hopefully you will find some more time to read this week.

  9. Big Cherry Holler is part of Trigiani's Big Stone Gap series, which I love! Enjoy your new books!

  10. I feel like a lot of mysteries/thrillers have sort of generic covers. I hope the Lippman story is great though!

  11. I read out of order in Lippman's Baltimore Blues series, but now I have this first one on Sparky. I agree...not the best cover! But the book will be good.

Enjoy! And thanks for visiting my blog.

  13. I'm a big Adriana Trigiani fan so I hope you love Big Cherry Holler - it's part of the Big Stone Gap series (a movie is being made!!). Have great week, Mystica!

  14. Hi Mystica,

There definitely seem to be peaks and troughs in receiving review requests, but that does allow for some quality catch up time, so all is not lost!

I like the sound of most of your selection this time, however the Tess Gerritsen is the definite for my own list. She never fails to excite and entertain with her excellent writing and storylines.

Enjoy all your books and have a great week,

    Yvonne

  15. I have yet to read anything by Jodi Picoult and I've heard others make the same comments about her stories being sad.

I have the new Trigiani book but I haven't heard of this one. And I have the new Lippman book too - can't wait to start reading those.

  16. Some great books Mystica. I laughed about the water cover, I am tired of that too, they need to get more creative for sure.

I gave up on Jodi P but that cover has me intrigued.

  20. Hello there Mystica. I so love book prizes. It seems like we haven't received any from the book challenges we joined this year. :( Too bad. I also have not read anything written by Jodi Picoult but I think I've seen one of the film adaptations of her books, such a tearjerker. Have a great reading week.
