Best reads for 2013




I tried very hard to get the pictures placed together neatly and it never worked. My best books for 2013.

I've enjoyed reading everyone else's lists so I do hope someone will try mine. I lean towards history and Indian colonial stories with a bit of murder and mystery thrown in. There is one time travel book which was surprisingly so very interesting I couldnt put it down!

    I loved The Husband's Secret too! I've had Afterwards on my shelf for a while and forgot all about it. Moving it to the top of the pile!

    Lots of interesting books, my dear - sounds great! I think you can place the books better, if you click on them (after clicking, the "Link"-function is switched off and it works better to get pictures placed!)

    Afterwards was a book I enjoyed...and so was The Husband's Secret.

    I like Joanna Trollope's books, so Friday Nights is going on my list.

    Putting photos on a blog is always a challenge. I use PicMonkey to make collages.

    I haven't read any of the books on your list but will make note of them because many look good.

    Great list, lots for me to add to my wishlist! I enjoyed Novel in the Viola too, it had a lot more depth than I was expecting but was still a fun read too.

    I really wanted to read Sister and Afterwards last year, this year, one of them for sure.

    I DNF Husbands Secret, just couldn't get into it but am still considering trying again.

    So glad The Husband's Secret made your fave list too. A Thousand Days in Tuscany caught my eye and Just One Damn Thing After Another went straight on my wishlist.

    That is a wonderful collection of best reads. Some of those covers are really striking. I know a few of these authors for good mysteries. I will have to look into some of the titles you mention.

    An interesting list, Mystica! I have only read Elizabeth George's mysteries although not for several years now (I love her stuff) and have also been meaning to read some Rumer Godden! The Crown also looks very interesting! Happy new year!
