Mailbox Monday/ It's Monday! What are you reading?

The following books came this week:

These came courtesy of Netgalley.

Reading two books almost alongside each other!

Vanessa and her sister - historical fiction and good. Lots of reference to Leonard Woolf who was Government Agent in Jaffna, Sri Lanka during the time of the British in Sri Lanka.

The Diary of a Pissed Off Flight Attendant. I am almost thinking of giving this up because it is very off hand kind of writing. Almost as if the writer has a pleasure in giving a comeuppance to anyone!

Its mid day here on a Monday and already I feel oppressed with the list of things to do!

  1. Abandon! Abandon! Go for it.

Hope your next book is better.

  2. Mystica, I would be interested in knowing about your views on Priya Parmar's novel. The Indian book trade is flooded with new-age fiction.

  6. I've been curious about Vanessa and her Sister and will watch for that review.

You should drop the flight attendant book if it's bothering you.

  7. Vanessa and Her Sister sounds like a fascinating book.

My rule is that if I don't like a book (or the main character) I quit reading it even if it is one I've requested for review. I do try to give the book a chance but I'd rather not devote free time to reading something I don't enjoy.

Good luck with your to-do list!

  17. If you're thinking about moving on, you probably should. There are too many good books out there to keep wasting time on one you're not enjoying. Have a great week!

If you think you need to move on, perhaps you should--life is too short to not finish great books!
