MAILBOX MONDAY/IT'S MONDAY! WHAT ARE YOU READING?

I came across some downloads of Anthony Trollope's books and these will form my Mailbox this week. They are big books so I really don't know when I am going to finish them all.

Barchester Towers (Barchester Chronicles, #2)

I like stories dealing with the church and this is one of those. Not particularly religious though. More dealing with the politics of the bishopric.

Wives and Daughters

Wives and Daughters by Elizabeth Gaskell.  English society pre 1832.

The Duke's Children

This is a good one. A father tries very hard to direct the lives of his children and finds his wishes are not taken into account.  Applies even now!!!

The Small House at Allington

Lots of intertwined stories in this novel.

I am reading The Small House at Allington. Not a book one could rush through but at 700 odd pages I need to get a move on.

This is going to be a classics week I think unless I can dig out a mystery or a murder from somewhere!

  2. I have a couple of Trollope's books - the size and small print scare me, although I have heard good reviews. Enjoy!

  5. I love the film version of Wives and Daughters and I loved North and South (both book and movie) by Elizabeth Gaskell but I still haven't read Wives and Daughters. I need to give it a try! I hope you enjoy it and the Trollope novels.

  8. Hi Mystica,

I have been dismally bad at reaing any of the classics, be they the books in general, or specific authors. I keep telling myself that I am going to re-balance my reading genres to include more of them, however it just isn't happening!

I think that you might well overdose on Trollope, but I do hope that you enjoy your own personal mini challenge!!

    Have a good week,

    Yvonne.
