Mailbox Monday is on tour right now. The host for August is Staci from Life in the Thumb. I am combining it with another meme It's Monday What are you reading hosted by Book Journey.
The two memes links one to a host of bloggers which would give you an insight into the very latest in books, trends, and what is happening in the book world.
Please visit both blogs and see whether there is anything that is of interest to you.
Only one book came into my house (which is not such a bad thing). This was a win from vvb32reads. Thank you Velvet and Helen Hollick who sent it on to me so very promptly.
Came in a record six days! Sea Witch deals with pirates and is a new subject for me. Looking forward to reading this one.
For this week I do have a pile of reading to get through. The Lake by Banana Yoshimoto (strangely despite glowing reviews I am struggling with this one), Christmas Holidays by
Somerset Maugham (am on a Maugham reading jag right now), there are two Jean Plaidy's
also on my list. Hopefully I will be able to get through the lot.
Now to visit the other blogs. Always such a pleasurable thing to do.

I've got Sea Witch sitting on my TBR shelf. I loved her Pendragon trilogy. Happy reading :)
ReplyDeleteGood luck with the Banana Yoshimoto book. The author is on my list!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the pirates!
ReplyDeletesounds like you have lots of fantastic reading ahead of you. enjoy :)
ReplyDeleteI've got the Sea Witch series to read as well. I read her Pendragon Trilogy and a solutely loved it! I hear such good things about Plaidy but I haven't read any of hers yet. I want to though.
ReplyDeleteThere is something to be said about only bringing 1 new book into your home.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your books! I've always wanted to read Jean Plaidy. As a teen I read a lot of Victoria Holt but I wasn't that interested in historical fiction then, so didn't check out Jean Plaidy.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy Helen Hollick's Sea Witch series, I know I certainly did. Have a wonderful week and happy reading.
ReplyDeleteMy Monday: http://www.rundpinne.com/2011/08/its-monday-what-are-you-reading-53.html
I've heard someone else mentioning they didn't find The Lake all that good as they had hoped. Such a pity.
ReplyDeleteI'm still hoping to read this, though.
Have a good week!
Just hopping through, hope you have a fab week reading :D
ReplyDeleteHere's my "It's Monday! What are you reading?" post.
I've never read Somerset Maugham although I keep seeing his books about, especially recently. I am trying to read one classic a month so I think I will add him to my list.
ReplyDeleteI've only read one book by banana Yoshimoto, Kitchen. I really enjoyed it at the time but haven't read anything since. Hate it though when you get a book that everyone seems to love but you just can't get into.
I think Sea Witch sounds great- hope you enjoy it!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your win! It sounds like a really good book - I hope you enjoy it!
ReplyDeleteI keep meaning to read something by Jean Plaidy.
ReplyDeleteHope you enjoy Sea Witch. Thanks for visiting my blog.
Enjoy! your winning book.
ReplyDeleteA book about pirates sounds like a good escape novel. Happy reading!
ReplyDeleteSea Witch sounds good! Have fun!
ReplyDeleteSometimes only 1 new one coming in is a good thing! I have The Lake on my Kindle just haven't gotten to it yet. I hope it picks up for you!! Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by and leave your link today!!
ReplyDeleteNice win - can't wait to hear what you think of it!
ReplyDeleteSea Witch sounds very different which can be a good thing. I hope you enjoy it! Congrats on the win!
ReplyDeleteI keep seeing The Lake everywhere but haven't picked up myself yet.
ReplyDeleteI want to start reading The Lake. I've heard about a few bloggers struggling to get into it, so maybe you're not alone.
ReplyDeleteHope you enjoy Sea Witch! Happy reading!
ReplyDeleteI like the sound of several of your reads! Starting Christmas already? I have some I plan to read by October. I recognize Jean Plaidy's name but haven't read her. They look pretty "rich" in detail.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy! Martha
