Two very short reviews - A Few Days in the Country and The Birds of Opulence

A collection of short stories which cover a range of feelings and human relationships and emotions. My first read of this Australian author.

Setting was slightly surreal - a southern town in America - a black township where several generations of women live together, survive amidst borderline madness.

Both books sent to me by Edelweiss.

Lovely looking books! They are new to me, so I'm curious about your thoughts on them. Thanks for sharing...and for visiting my blog.

I love those covers. Both sound interesting. Just the use of "surreal" makes me hesitate, I admit. Surreal and I do not always get along. A Few Days in the Country appeals to me though from your description of it--I enjoy stories that delve into human emotions and relationships.

I like short stories sometimes and Few Days in the country certainly looks interesting. I also want to read more Australian authors, the one I tried recently I really enjoyed.

I hope your weather smooths out too.
I like the bird covers. They both sound interesting, although A Few Days ... might be more to my tastes.
Have a Happy Reading week.
