Mailbox Monday hosted for July by Book Obsessed.

The books that I got this week are

The Promise: An Italian Romance

Put Italian and romance in one sentence and I am a sucker! the cover is a bit unprepossessing I thought. You can do so very very much with Italian and Romance!

The Rise and Fall of a Yummy Mummy

Not read British chick lit for quite sometime. I like the sound of this one.

The Italian Wedding

Two feuding families, two love stories and to crown it all a feast of delicious Italian food.

This week it is all fun, light reads!

Death of an Outsider (Hamish Macbeth, #3)

I find these books very easy to read. They are small books which fit into a handbag very conveniently so I seem to be reading much more than usual!

Unlike most bloggers, I do not have a stack of books to be read awaiting me. I am in awe of those who seem to have literally hundreds of books awaiting reading and review. My TBR list is enormous of course but the actual physical number of books is always just a couple of books available at any one time. The fortunate thing is that I always find a couple of books to have around so that the fear of not having anything to read is never there.

  1. Mystica, I envy you for not having more than a couple of books around. I can't seem to overcome the temptation of buying books and saving them for the afterlife.

  2. I always buy lots of books too! You've got some lovely stories there - enjoy!

  3. the rise and fall of a yummy mummy does sound interesting. I hope you have a great week.

  4. British chick lit is so much fun! The "Italian" books look good too. I hope you enjoy them!

  5. The more books the better :)

  6. Gorgeous looking books! Death of an Outsider has an awesome cover...and I'm curious about the Yummy Mummy book! Enjoy...and thanks for visiting my blog.

  7. All the books on your list look so good, especially the ones set in Italy which is a place I hope to visit someday.

Working in a library means that I always have access to lots of books and I have a tendency to bring home more than I have the time to read! I also have a Kindle so I read e-books for review and sometimes check them out from the library. Thankfully they don't take up space! I used to buy a lot of print books but I just don't have room for them on my bookshelves. Now every year I go through my collection and donate some of them to the library book sale.

ENJOY your books and your week.

  9. Oooh, The Italian Wedding looks good!

  10. I enjoyed The Italian Wedding, hope you do as well. I agree with you about the cover of The Promise. Have a great week.

  11. Death of an Outsider does look good as I love this series. The others also look fabulous, especially the cover of the Italian Wedding, the the title of The Rise and Fall of a Yummy Mummy!

  12. The "Italian" novels sound lovely. I've wanted to start the Hamish Macbeth series for so long! I love mysteries. Enjoy!

  13. The Italian Wedding caught my eye.

  14. Hi Mystica,

I am not a huge fan of chick-lit, the odd story, every now and then, is plenty for me.

I quite like the sound of 'The Italian Wedding' though. I love the description of the 'typical' Italian family, which the author warns us all about in the synopsis. It also sounds as though I'll be able to pick up some great Italian recipes, just right for the 'Weekend Cooking' meme!

Thanks for sharing and enjoy the rest of the week,

  15. Ooh lovely, lovely books this week. I didn't think Italy when I saw the cover of The Promise, looks more like England or Scotland lol. Cool title The Rise and Fall of a Yummy Mummy. Have a great week and enjoy your reads :)
