My mailbox was empty this Monday! so I went shopping Monday morning and got these gorgeous books.
Mary Stewart has been coming up on several blogs. This book is a sequel but I could not find the first one.
Like the classic Penguins!
Who can resist three Agatha Christie's? Not me.
I read and reviewed another book of this author which I just did not like. So many bloggers said she writes so well, I wanted to read something else of hers.
The latter book set in pre WWII - one of my favourite periods in history.
Has anyone not read The Thorn Birds? I couldn't pass up on this one.
Outlander was one of my first forays into a slightly different genre (for me that is). I liked her book so this is my second.
Lots of great titles! I bet those Agatha Christie books are good ones!
ReplyDeleteI love Diana Gabaldon, that series is one of my favorites!
ReplyDeleteAgatha Christie - just classic mystery - have to love her. enjoy all of your new books.
ReplyDeleteLove those Agatha Christie covers. Nice. Happy reading.
ReplyDeleteTestament of Youth is a fascinating read, as much for the portrait of middle class English society and life before, during & after WW1 as it is in relation to the war itself. I firts read it for my A Level, in parallel with war poets like Seigfried Sasson, Robert Graves, etc.
ReplyDeleteHope you enjoy!
Oh, you've skipped over Dragonfly in Amber, the second book in the Outlander series! You might want to read that one first--a lot of stuff happens! The Hollow Hills looks good! Enjoy all of those books!
ReplyDeleteI loved Dinner at the Homesick Restaurant...hope you do, too.
ReplyDeleteI've been meaning to read something by Colleen McCullough.
Enjoy your books!
Thanks for visiting my blog.
Love all the Agatha Christie novels! Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteOoo, I'm sure you will love Voyager - that series is one of my all time favorites :)
ReplyDeleteLooks like you had a good time shopping. I'm another one of those bloggers that enjoys Anne Tyler. Do give her books another try.
ReplyDeleteGreat choices - I wouldn't want to do anything else but read! Have long loved Mary Stewart and Monica Dickens.
ReplyDeleteI'll watch for your thoughts about Dinner at the Homesick Restaurant.
ReplyDeleteI've only read the first Outlander book but I have the next few on my shelves.
I have not read that book by Colleen McCullough but did read The Thornbirds a million years ago. I will watch for a review on this book.
ReplyDeleteWonderful mailbox. All the covers look interesting to me. Have a great reading week.
ReplyDeleteCome look at my haul this week!!
Here is my post!
Voyager is a good one! I own the Colleen McCullough book but haven't read it yet (love the Thorn Birds though)!
ReplyDeleteGabaldon & Christie can't go wrong with that :)
ReplyDeleteLove the Thorn Birds and Diana Gabaldon's series is an all-time favourite of mine ... oh Jamie LOL
